Italian design house Natuzzi Italia, celebrated worldwide for its philosophy of harmonious living and exceptional craftsmanship, introduces a new masterpiece to its bedroom collection: the Cala Bed, envisioned by acclaimed designer Claudio Bellini.
More than just a place to rest, the Cala Bed is a poetic interpretation of comfort and beauty. Its sculptural silhouette is inspired by the serene lines of coastal landscapes, recalling the gentle embrace of the sea. The name itself—Cala—evokes the intimacy of small bays along the Mediterranean, where nature and tranquillity meet.
The defining feature of the Cala Bed is its softly upholstered headboard. With simple yet refined vertical stitching, it adds dynamism and character, transforming a functional element into a design statement. Fully upholstered and finished on the back, the Cala Bed can be positioned freely in any space, making it as versatile as it is elegant.
A Marriage of Design and Functionality
The Cala Bed is as practical as it is beautiful. Hidden storage options include a discreet sliding box available across multiple versions, ideal for organizing linens or personal items. Its frame accommodates various mattress dimensions, while the slats—crafted from multi-layer beech wood reinforced with ABS polymer—ensure durability, comfort, and enhanced lumbar support through a special embossing technique.
A Complete Bedroom Universe
The Cala collection extends beyond the bed itself. Complementary pieces include a matching bench, chest of drawers, and bedside cabinets, all upholstered in the same luxurious fabrics. Together, they create an intimate retreat that recalls the charm of Polignano a Mare, a coastal gem in southern Italy where sea, stone, and architecture coexist in perfect balance.
Designed for Modern Living
Offered in two headboard heights and supported by elegant black metal feet, the Cala Bed seamlessly adapts to diverse interior styles—from minimalist spaces to more elaborate, design-driven bedrooms. It strikes a perfect balance between form, function, and emotional connection, reflecting Natuzzi Italia’s mission to craft furniture that celebrates la dolce vita at home.
With the Cala Bed, Natuzzi Italia invites you to discover the art of sleeping beautifully—where Italian elegance meets your sweetest dreams.
