Dubai welcomed 14.96 million international visitors between January and October 2024, an 8 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The latest update from Dubai Tourism attributes this growth to a robust calendar of global events, strategic marketing campaigns, and expanded offerings tailored to diverse markets. The figures further cement Dubai’s position as a leading destination for both leisure and business travellers worldwide.
Visitor trends and key source markets
Western Europe continued to lead as the top source market, contributing 20 percent of all visitors, followed closely by South Asia (17 percent) and GCC countries (15 percent). Notably, North East Asia and South East Asia made up 10 percent of total arrivals, indicating a growing appetite for Dubai among Asian markets.
Additionally, significant growth was recorded from emerging markets, including the Americas and CIS regions, reflecting the emirate’s ability to tap into diverse audiences. Dubai’s reputation as a year-round destination has been further bolstered by its ability to cater to different traveller segments, including luxury tourists, families, business travellers, and adventure enthusiasts.
Hospitality sector growth
The hotel industry has seen significant gains in tandem with rising visitor numbers. Dubai recorded an average occupancy rate of 77 percent, a 3 percent year-on-year increase, driven by expanded room supply and consistent demand.
Hotel Room Inventory grew to 152,532 rooms, with balanced growth across luxury, mid-range, and budget segments. Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) is up 4 percent year-on-year, reflecting improved performance and higher demand.
The increase in occupied room nights, which reached 35.15 million, further highlights Dubai’s ability to attract both short- and long-term visitors.
Events and experiences driving tourism
Dubai’s dynamic calendar of events has played a key role in its tourism success. Flagship festivals like the Dubai Shopping Festival and fitness-focused initiatives such as the Dubai Fitness Challenge continue to attract millions of participants and tourists. Major global business events, including over 376 secured bids, have brought significant economic and visitor impact, strengthening Dubai’s appeal as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination.
Dubai Tourism’s latest insights reveal growing demand for sustainable travel and experiential tourism. Visitors are increasingly seeking eco-conscious offerings, with an emphasis on cultural exploration, wellness, and curated local experiences. Luxury hospitality continues to thrive, but mid-range offerings are also expanding to cater to price-sensitive markets without compromising on quality. Aligned with Dubai’s ambitious D33 Vision, which aims to position the emirate among the top three global cities by 2033, the tourism sector remains focused on growth, innovation, and sustainability.
