The Story
The story of NakedLab began with a personal journey. Joyce Lau, founder & CEO of NakedLab, started the brand after her daughter Pia was diagnosed with contact dermatitis. Joyce’s search for chemical-free, luxurious bedding led to the creation of NakedLab’s first product in 2017, a bamboo cot sheet for her daughter.
“As a new mum living in Hong Kong, I was concerned about my baby’s eczema and the chemicals around us,” says Joyce. “I couldn’t find bedding that combined comfort, luxury, and safety, so I decided to create it myself. BambooSilk turned out to be a game-changer, and that’s how NakedLab was born.” Being an architect, Joyce paid particular attention to the balance between functionality and aesthetics, which was difficult to find in bedding. “Inspired by this amazing material, I decided to create NakedLab bed sheets to bring a touch of pure elegance and serenity to everyone’s sleeping environment,” Joyce said.

The brand’s bamboo bedding is made 100% from organic bamboo, from thread to fiber to the final product, and is certified free from harmful chemicals. NakedLab uses natural enzymes to crush organic bamboo pulp, creating a fiber that is spun into yarn to make its BambooSilk fabric. What differentiates BambooSilk from other materials is its softness—twice as soft as cotton—and its breathability for extra comfort. Additionally, it is thermo-regulating, thus prevents overheating and keeps the body cool, which is perfect for countries like the UAE.
