As part of the state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Sultanate of Oman, at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the exhibitions and conferences sector was signed.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Qais Al Yousuf, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.
Fatima bint Jaffer Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), highlighted the importance of strengthening tourism integration between Bahrain and Oman, reflecting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
She noted that the MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector, promote Gulf countries as a unified tourism destination, and leverage the unique cultural and natural resources of each country sustainably.
The agreement also focuses on exchanging expertise in tourism and hospitality, fostering collaboration with Omani entities in the exhibitions and conferences sector, and supporting shared goals of sustainable growth and mutual knowledge exchange.
The minister said that this cooperation aligns with the executive programme of the Bahrain-Oman MoU on tourism for 2022-2024, which aims to advance the tourism sector and strengthen Gulf-wide collaboration in the tourism and exhibitions industry.
